Home Seller Packs

If you are selling your residential property on the open market, you will normally need a Home Information Pack. When selling your property, the agency/person responsible for marketing the property must have a Home Sellers Pack. They must on request, provide a potential buyer with a copy of the Pack, or any document from it within the permitted time period of 14 days following the request for copies, or, if later, the day on which a payment for copies is received. If an estate agent is responsible for marketing the property, then these duties apply to them, not the vendor.

Sellers have a number of options; You can use an estate agent, a solicitor or use a specialist Home Info Pack provider. You can even compile one yourself(works out more expensive). Some supermarkets have also indicated that they might provide the Home Info Packs. They will probably be one of the cheaper options. You can probably expect to pay £400-£700 for a Hip. Some have said Home Info Packs will cost nearly £1000, but this is probably a bit of an overestimate
